North Hollywood is a neighborhood of contrasts — gated estates tucked into the hills near Beachwood Canyon sit just blocks from working production studios and busy residential streets in Arleta. A malfunctioning BFT gate doesn’t care about your schedule, and neither do we. Why North Hollywood Residents Choose Us for BFT Service
James Smith built Pure Gate Repair Services on a simple premise: local knowledge and brand-specific skill matter more than a generic repair truck. With 12 years serving the greater Los Angeles area and 587 verified reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5 stars, our team has earned the trust of North Hollywood property owners across ZIP codes 91601 through 91612. We stock OEM-compatible BFT components on our service vehicles, which means fewer return trips and faster fixes. We are an independent service provider — not affiliated with BFT’s manufacturer — but our technicians train specifically on BFT systems so you get specialist-level care without dealership prices.
Common BFT Gate Repair Problems We Solve in North Hollywood
- Control board failures and erratic remote behavior: North Hollywood’s summer heat regularly pushes temperatures past 95°F, and BFT control boards — particularly on older PHOBOS and DEIMOS models — are susceptible to heat-induced component failure. We diagnose and replace faulty boards on-site, restoring reliable remote and keypad operation the same day.
- Hydraulic operator leaks and slow movement: Properties near Garnsey and Hewitt often have longer driveways with heavier custom gates, and that extra load accelerates hydraulic fluid loss in BFT’s underground operators. We carry the correct BFT-specification hydraulic oil and replacement seals to stop leaks before a slow gate becomes a gate that won’t move at all.
- Swing gate motor arm disconnects and alignment drift: In Beverly Glen-adjacent properties where decorative wrought-iron gates are common, BFT swing arm operators gradually drift out of alignment as mounting brackets loosen over seasonal temperature swings. Left uncorrected, the gate starts dragging, straining the motor, and eventually damages the limit switch assembly — we realign, resecure, and recalibrate in a single visit.
- Safety sensor faults and auto-reverse failures: North Hollywood’s proximity to Strathern Playground and active family neighborhoods means residential gates see heavy pedestrian traffic. When BFT photocells get dirty, sun-bleached, or knocked out of alignment, the auto-reverse system misfires — gates either stop mid-cycle or, worse, fail to detect an obstruction. We clean, realign, and test every photocell pair before we leave your property.

Our North Hollywood service vehicles are stocked for BFT’s full residential and light commercial lineup. That includes swing gate operators from the PHOBOS and VIRGO families, sliding gate motors across the ARES and KUSTOS series, underground operators in the IGEA line, and BFT’s barrier arms used in multi-unit properties throughout the 91605 and 91606 corridors. We also carry replacement Mitto and Mitto B RCB remote transmitters, WM30 wall-mount keypads, and BFT-compatible loop detector modules — so a single visit typically handles the full repair.
